Make
Well-executed automation platform with strong security focus. Never went deep — n8n and Zapier got my attention first.
What I use it for
Where it shines
- Clean, well-designed UI. One of the more user-friendly automation platforms.
- Strong security posture. Has shifted toward enterprise-grade workflow automation.
- Powerful enough to be a real contender in the automation space.
Where it struggles
- Never got deep into it. n8n and Zapier captured my attention in the early automation exploration.
- Hard to justify learning a third automation platform when self-hosted n8n handles the workload.
Notes
Make is a great site and a powerful platform. Above all, it's a very well-executed, user-friendly product that has shifted toward workflow automation with strong security. I never did much with it — focused on n8n and Zapier, and early on Replit in my early days of experimenting with coding AI. Respected from a distance.
How to try it
Sign up and build a simple two-app integration. The UI quality will be immediately obvious. Whether you need it depends on what you already have.

Zapier
Automation gateway drug. Great integrations. Replaced by self-hosted n8n.
n8n
Open-source workflow automation I self-host on Docker — still useful, but increasingly replaced by native tool capabilities.
MCP.so
MCP server directory. Briefly explored it but found Smithery more effective. Native integrations are making both less necessary.
